Vergel Formaran is an Agribusiness graduate of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) with more than two decades of extensive experience in the agricultural and agribusiness sectors. His professional background includes significant experience with multinational crop protection companies, with a strong focus on high-value crops (HVCs), including vegetables, rice, corn, and fruit-bearing trees. He also brings extensive experience in the waste-to-energy and renewable energy sectors. Building on his expertise in agricultural operations and plantation management, he currently serves as Vice President for Field Operations of a biomass renewable energy company, overseeing plantation operations across the country. With a diverse background spanning crop production, agricultural operations, plantation management, and renewable energy, Vergel brings a practical, results-oriented approach to farm development and agribusiness.
